Timeline

1960

Members gathered at homes to have Christian meetings. They met in Juan Bautista Rivera and Ignacia Rivera's residence in the South Side of Chicago. The group prayed for a Pastor to lead the congregation.

Mid 1960 - 1970

Albert Young became the group's first Pastor. They also located their first building near the south side. They called the congregation Jeffery Manor Community Christian Church. After Young resigned, Ranulfo Garza became the leader for some years during this time.

1970

A new Pastor, Steve Martinez lead the church and rented a building site where they gather in a gymnasium.

1985

Steve Martinez resigned.

1986

Ricardo Ayala was chosen as Pastor and the church moved/rented to a non-profit Mexican Community Committee building for 3 years. During this time they changed the congregation's name to it's current name : Community Christian Church at Chicago.

1988

CCC of Chicago purchased our current location that was 75 years old at the time and was remolded.

1989

Building was completed. Church hosted a dedication service.

2007

Pastor Ayala resigned and Jimmy Serrano was elected as the new leader for 4 years.

2011

Pastor Eliezer De Leon became the full time pastor and is still serving the Lord at CCC of Chicago today.
